Why start yoga?
Yoga is much more than just poses and flexibility. It is an ancient practice that unites body, mind, and breath to create a state of balance and well-being. And the best news? You don’t need to be flexible or have prior experience to get started.
What you need for your first class
Just three essentials: a non-slip mat, comfortable clothing, and a willingness to learn. Our 6mm Premium Yoga Mat is ideal for beginners, as its extra thickness protects your knees and joints while you learn the basic poses.
5 basic poses to get started
- Child’s Pose (Balasana): Perfect for relaxing the back and calming the mind.
- Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana): Stretches the entire back of the body and strengthens the arms.
- Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I): Builds leg strength and improves balance.
- Tree Pose (Vrksasana): Works on balance and concentration.
- Savasana: The final relaxation pose—just as important as the others.
Tips for your practice
Practice on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning. Start with 20–30 minute sessions, three times a week. Listen to your body and never force a pose. Progress in yoga is gradual, and that is exactly what makes the practice so beautiful.
Remember: there is no competition in yoga. Your only point of comparison is who you were yesterday.
